Namexif est un utilitaire permettant de renommer automatiquement les photos avec leur date d'enregistrement. Pour se faire, il utilise les donnees EXIF enregistrees par l'appareil photo numerique. La Date est precise a la seconde pres. Namexif est un utilitaire pratique pour trier les photos puisque le format de date genere les classe automatiquement dans l'ordre chronologique. C'est aussi un moyen de donner un identifiant unique a vos photos.

Les differents formats de renommage sont:( EXIF ) embeded in photos produced by digital cameras. Date's precision is the second. Namexif is a convenient way to sort your photos since the date format produced order each photos chronologically. It also provides a solution to set a unique identification to your photos.

Renaming format options are:
  • YYYY-MM-DD-HHhMMmSS
  • YYYYMMDDHHMMSS
  • 8 characteres (compatible ISO)

    Questions and Answers

  • What if two or more pictures have the same EXIF date?
    • If you select two or more pictures which have the same EXIF date, then Namexif will rename the first as expected but will not rename any others pictures with same date. Photos which can't be renamed keep their original name: no change!

  • What if I select photos or pictures which have no EXIF data?
    • Photos or pictures without EXIF data are not renamed by Namexif. They keep their original name: no change!

  • What is the eight characters format?
    • In order to burn a CDROM, you may requiere an ISO 9660 mode 1 file systems where filenames are in UPPER case and up to 8 + 3 characters. In that format, Namexif still relies on EXIF date, but compute the difference between the EXIF date from the photo and 1/1/1998. That difference time's unit is the second. Finally, Namexif convert that result from decimal base to hexadecimal base. Time mapping from h00000000 to hFFFFFFFF equals 1/1/1998 to 1/1/2134.
